Congress makes the Youth Conservation Corps permanent and expands it so more young people can get paid outdoor work on national parks, forests, and other public lands and waters. The program helped youth from all backgrounds care for natural resources, taught them about the Nation’s environment and heritage equal to one full academic year of study, and prepares them to manage these resources.
