§17j–2 Authorization of Appropriations for Road Maintenance and Repair, Etc.

Summary

Authorizes money to protect and fix roads and nearby lands for several national parks. It pays for protecting the federally owned Ocean Strip and Queets Corridor next to Olympic National Park in Washington. It pays to repair roads from Glacier Park Station through the Blackfeet Indian Reservation to Glacier National Park’s boundary and the international border. It pays to repair about two and seventy-seven one-hundredths miles of road from U.S. Highway 187 to the north entrance of Grand Teton National Park. It covers upkeep of approach roads to Lassen Volcanic National Park, the Generals Highway between Sequoia and the Grant Grove area of Kings Canyon, about two and one-fourth miles of specific Sequoia–Kings Canyon approach roads, roads out of Yellowstone through nearby national forests, the Tioga–Hetch Hetchy connector near Yosemite, the Little Bighorn Battlefield and Reno Monument approach roads, and repair of a class “C” road near Coronado National Memorial (about 5.3 miles). Subsections (b) through (g) were repealed by Pub. L. 113–287 on December 19, 2014 (128 Stat. 3272). It also allows buying rights-of-way and building and maintaining a water supply line partly outside Mesa Verde National Park.
