§17j–2 Authorization of Appropriations for Road Maintenance and Repair, Etc.

Summary

Provides money for the National Park Service to protect and fix specific roads, access routes, and related needs at many parks and nearby federal lands. It covers work at the Ocean Strip and Queets Corridor next to Olympic National Park; roads from Glacier Park Station across the Blackfeet Indian Reservation to the boundary of Glacier National Park and the international border; a 2.77-mile road from United States Highway 187 to the north entrance of Grand Teton National Park; approach roads through Lassen National Forest to Lassen Volcanic National Park; the Generals Highway between Sequoia National Park and the Grant Grove part of Kings Canyon National Park; about 2.25 miles made up of parts of the Fresno–Kings Canyon approach, Park Ridge Lookout Road, and Ash Mountain–Advance truck trail for Sequoia and Kings Canyon; roads in national forests leading out of Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana); the Stanislaus National Forest road linking Tioga Road and Hetch Hetchy Road near Mather Station in Yosemite; the approach and connecting road for Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and the Reno Monument in Montana; and a class “C” road of about 5.3 miles into Coronado National Memorial near Montezuma Pass. Parts (b) through (g) were repealed on Dec. 19, 2014 (Pub. L. 113–287, § 7, 128 Stat. 3272). The law also allows buying rights‑of‑way and building and maintaining a water supply line partly outside Mesa Verde National Park.
