Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter XXIII— ABRAHAM LINCOLN BIRTHPLACE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 218a
The Secretary of the Interior can accept, by donation only, about 228 acres called Knob Creek Farm in Larue County, Kentucky, shown on a map dated October 1998 (map number 338/80,077). If the land is donated, it becomes part of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park and will be managed by the National Park Service. The Secretary must study Knob Creek Farm and send a report to Congress no later than 1 year after November 6, 1998. The study must find important resources tied to Lincoln’s early boyhood, assess threats to the farm’s cultural, recreational, and natural features, and plan how to add the farm to the park. The plan must list needed infrastructure and improvements, possible recreational and educational uses, and estimated costs and revenues. Money may be provided as needed to do the study.
