Title 16 › Chapter 51— ALASKA NATIONAL INTEREST LANDS CONSERVATION › Subchapter VI— ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS › § 3194
The Secretary may designate federal land or acquire important archaeological or fossil sites in Alaska that are outside but closely linked to Cape Krusenstern, Bering Land Bridge, Yukon‑Charley Rivers, or Kobuk Valley. They become part of that area and are managed with it. No more than 7,500 acres may be added to any one area. Before adding or buying over 100 acres, the Secretary must notify Congressional committees and publish notice in the Federal Register.
