Title 16 › Chapter 51— ALASKA NATIONAL INTEREST LANDS CONSERVATION › Subchapter VI— ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS › § 3202
Keeps Alaska in charge of managing fish and wildlife on its public lands unless subchapter II of the Act says otherwise, and does not change the Alaska Constitution. Also, unless the Act specifically says something different, it does not change the Secretary’s authority over management of public lands. Says hunting and fishing in conservation units, national conservation areas, national recreation areas, and national forests must follow this Act and other state and federal laws. National parks and national monuments in the State are closed to taking fish and wildlife, except the Secretary must allow subsistence uses to continue for local rural residents in Park System units created by this Act that permit them, and the Secretary must allow fishing under this Act and other applicable laws.
