Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LX— NATIONAL MILITARY PARKS › § 425j
The Secretary of the Interior is allowed to use $50,000 from Treasury funds not already set aside to start carrying out sections 425–425j. That money can pay for buying or leasing land, surveys and maps, marking park boundaries, building or fixing roads, pay for commissioners and workers, travel, supplies, and other needed costs. The $50,000 stays available until spent, and more money can be approved later if needed to finish the work and keep the park up. The Secretary must report to Congress each year on all spending made under these sections.
