Title 16 › CHAPTER 1 — NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › SUBCHAPTER LX — NATIONAL MILITARY PARKS › § 430g–8
Creates the Gettysburg National Military Park Advisory Commission with 11 members. The Secretary appoints one person for each of the four townships around the park and one for the Borough of Gettysburg (five total); one from Adams County government; one from the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office; two Adams County residents who know the park (one must own land or an interest inside the park); one local historic‑preservation expert; and the National Park Service Director or a designee as an ex officio member. Members serve staggered three‑year terms set at the start and may stay until a successor is named. The commission picks a chair. Six members make a quorum. The Secretary or a designee must meet with the commission at least semiannually to coordinate park management with local governments. The commission must hold regular public meetings and publish notices and agendas in local newspapers that cover the area. Members are unpaid, but the Secretary may pay reasonable expenses for duties under sections 430g–4 to 430g–10 on vouchers signed by the chair. Section 1013 of title 5 is waived for this commission.
