Title 16 › CHAPTER 1 — NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › SUBCHAPTER LXIII — NATIONAL SEASHORE RECREATIONAL AREAS › § 459c–4
As soon as practicable after September 13, 1962, once the Secretary buys land in the area described in section 459c–1 and thinks it can be managed to meet the goals of sections 459c to 459c–7, the Secretary must create Point Reyes National Seashore by publishing a notice in the Federal Register. The notice must give a detailed description of the seashore boundaries that match, as closely as possible, the area in section 459c–1. Right after that publication, the Secretary must send the notice and a map by registered or certified mail to the State Governor and the governing body of each local political subdivision involved, publish the notice and map in one or more local newspapers, and record a certified copy of the notice, a copy of the map, and a copy of sections 459c to 459c–7 at the county registry of deeds.
