Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter CXVI— LAKE MEREDITH NATIONAL RECREATION AREA › § 460eee
Creates the Lake Meredith National Recreation Area in Texas so people can enjoy its lands and waters and so the area's scenic, scientific, and cultural values are protected. The area includes the lands, waters, and related interests shown on the map labeled SWRO—80,023–A, dated September 1990, which is kept at National Park Service offices for public viewing. The Secretary of the Interior can make small boundary changes. Federal lands and waters inside that mapped area are put under the care of the National Park Service, except for the pieces needed to run the Canadian River Project for municipal and industrial water supply and flood control. Those stay under the Bureau of Reclamation.
