Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LXXVIII— BIGHORN CANYON NATIONAL RECREATION AREA › § 460t
Creates the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area to give the public places for outdoor recreation and to protect the scenic, scientific, and historic parts around Yellowtail Reservoir in Wyoming and Montana. The area is the land shown on the November 1964 drawing titled "Proposed Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area" (LNPMW–010A–BC) on file with the National Park Service. The Secretary of the Interior must publish a detailed boundary description in the Federal Register as soon as possible after October 15, 1966. The boundary should, as much as possible, match the November 1964 drawing. The Secretary can later change the boundary under the law’s rules by publishing an amended description in the Federal Register.
