The Secretary of the Interior may swap lands to protect deer along Yosemite’s west side. The United States will take by exchange about 1,350 acres (more or less) of private land in parts of Sections 21 and 28, Township 3 South, Range 20 East (Mount Diablo meridian), and in Sections 22–27 between an old railroad grade and the current park boundary. Those private lands will be added to Yosemite. In return the Secretary may give the owner legal title (a patent) to about 1,010 acres (more or less) of Government land in several parcels in Townships 3 South Range 20 East, 3 South Range 21 East, and 4 South Range 21 East; those transferred Government lands will be removed from the park.
