Title 16 › CHAPTER 2 — NATIONAL FORESTS › SUBCHAPTER II — SCENIC AREAS › § 546b–1
The Secretary must, as soon as possible after March 30, 2009, send maps and written boundary descriptions to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and to the House Committees on Natural Resources and on Agriculture. The maps must show the borders for four types of areas: scenic areas; the wilderness areas named in paragraphs 9 through 20 of section 1 of Public Law 100–326; the wilderness study area named in section 6(a)(5) of the Virginia Wilderness Act of 1984; and the potential wilderness area named in section 1103(a). Those filed maps and boundary descriptions count the same as if they were put into this subtitle. The Secretary may correct small errors. The maps and descriptions must be kept on file and open for public inspection in the Office of the Chief of the Forest Service. If a map disagrees with the acreage listed in this subtitle, the map controls.
