All U.S. public land north of township 60 north in Cook and Lake Counties, Minnesota; the part of St. Louis County north of a line that starts at the NE corner of Township 63N, Range 12W and runs by township lines to the international border; the natural Lake Superior shorelines in that area; lands along lakes and streams on the U.S.–Canada boundary there; parts of Superior National Forest in Townships 61 and 62, Ranges 12 and 13W; and shorelines of Burntside Lake and Lake Vermilion are closed to new claims, entry, or purchase under the federal public land laws. Existing legal claims already started under the public land laws can continue if they are kept up as required by law, and the Department of Agriculture may still issue permits or licenses that apply to national forests.
