§7501 Definitions

Summary

Defines key words used in the chapter. Coastal county means the counties NOAA lists in "NOAA’s List of Coastal Counties for the Bureau of the Census" (or a similar successor document). Coastal State means what "coastal state" is defined to be in section 1453 of this title. Foundation means the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation created by section 3701(a) of this title. Fund means the National Oceans and Coastal Security Fund set up under section 7503(a) of this title. Indian tribe means any federally recognized Indian tribe. Administrator, unless the law says otherwise, means the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Tidal shoreline means the definition given in section 923.110(c)(2)(i) of title 15, Code of Federal Regulations, or a similar successor rule.
