Title 16 › Chapter 12B— BONNEVILLE PROJECT › § 832f
Rate schedules for selling any power from the Bonneville Project that is more than what the dam, locks, and related works need must be set with the idea that the electricity comes from water power produced when the dam was built for the purposes listed in section 832. Those rates must be made so they recover the cost of producing and sending the power, including paying back the capital investment over a reasonable number of years. The Secretary of Energy must decide how costs are split, and may assign a fair share of joint facility costs to the power side when facilities serve both power and other uses.
