Title 18 › Part I— CRIMES › Chapter 113B— TERRORISM › § 2332d
A United States person who knows or has good reason to believe that a country is officially listed under section 6(j) of the Export Administration Act of 1979 (50 U.S.C. App. 2405) as supporting international terrorism and who carries out a financial transaction with that country's government can be fined, sent to prison for up to 10 years, or both. The Treasury Secretary, after consulting the Secretary of State, may create rules that allow exceptions. Financial transaction — same meaning as in 18 U.S.C. 1956(c)(4). United States person — includes U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, companies organized under U.S. law, and anyone in the United States.
