Explains the meanings of key words used in this chapter. Act of terrorism means an act of domestic or international terrorism as defined in section 2331. United States person includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, anyone in the United States, U.S. government employees or contractors who are targeted because of their job, businesses mainly owned by U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and corporations formed under U.S. law and their foreign subsidiaries. United States property means property inside the United States or property outside the United States owned or beneficially owned by a United States person or a U.S. federal or state government entity. United States (geographic) includes Puerto Rico and all U.S. territories and possessions. State includes any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories or possessions. Government entity includes the U.S. government, any State or local government, any foreign country, and subdivisions of a foreign country. Attorney General means the U.S. Attorney General or the official they designate. Act of espionage means conduct that violates sections 793, 794, or 798 of this title, or section 4 of the Subversive Activities Control Act of 1950.
