§1805a Deputy Architect of the Capitol to Serve as Acting in Case of Absence, Disability, or Vacancy

Summary

The Deputy Architect must serve as the Architect whenever the Architect is absent, disabled, or the job is vacant. If the Deputy Architect is also absent, disabled, or the job is vacant, the congressional commission named in section 1801a(a) will pick someone by majority vote to serve as acting Architect until the absence ends or, if both jobs are vacant, until a new Architect is appointed under section 1801a(a). The acting Architect has all the same duties and powers as the Architect, including the power to delegate tasks under section 1803.
