The House sets up a Fine Arts Board made up of the House members of the Joint Committee on the Library. The chair of the House Oversight Committee is the Board’s chair. The Board, working with the House Office Building Commission, is in charge of all Congress-owned art, historical objects, and similar items that are displayed or used in the House wing of the Capitol, House office buildings, or other places the House controls. The Clerk of the House must manage, care for, and display those items under the Board’s direction. The Architect of the Capitol must help the Board and the Clerk carry out these duties.
