Title 2 › Chapter 55— HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OFFICERS AND ADMINISTRATION › Subchapter V— GENERAL COUNSEL › § 5571
Allows the General Counsel of the House and other lawyers in that office to go into any federal, state, or local court to do their legal work without having to meet that court’s usual admission rules. That permission does not let them be admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. The Attorney General must notify the General Counsel as required by section 530D of title 28. General Counsel of the House of Representatives means the head of the Office of General Counsel under House Rule II, clause 8; the head of any office that replaces that office after September 29, 1999; and anyone the House Rules authorize to give legal help and represent the House in these matters.
