Title 20 › Chapter 28— HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCES AND STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Subchapter IV— STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Part A— Grants to Students in Attendance at Institutions of Higher Education › Subpart 4— leveraging educational assistance partnership program › § 1070c–4
Defines community service as work, planning, and practical research a college picks after talking with local nonprofit, government, and community groups. The work must try to improve life for community residents—especially low-income people—or fix local problems in areas like health care, child care, education, safety, transportation, housing, rural and neighborhood development, and similar needs, and it must give students hands-on work-learning that connects to their studies or career goals.
