§6431 Eligibility

Summary

A State agency can get help under this part if it runs free public schools for certain children and youth. That means the agency is responsible for educating kids and teens who live in facilities for neglected or delinquent youth, who attend community day programs for those groups, or who are in adult correctional institutions.

A State agency is eligible for assistance under this subpart if such State agency is responsible for providing free public education for children and youth—

(1)in institutions for neglected or delinquent children and youth;

(2)attending community day programs for neglected or delinquent children and youth; or

(3)in adult correctional institutions.
