§2371 Exception Relating to Importation of Goods

Summary
Officials who can block or freeze all transactions in property under this law do not have the power to place sanctions on the importation of goods. Good — an item or substance (natural or manmade), a material, supply, or manufactured product; this also covers inspection and testing equipment but does not include technical data.

(a)The authority or a requirement to block and prohibit all transactions in all property and interests in property under this chapter shall not include the authority or a requirement to impose sanctions on the importation of goods.
(b)In this section, the term “good” means any article, natural or manmade substance, material, supply or manufactured product, including inspection and test equipment, and excluding technical data.
