Title 21 › Chapter 10— POULTRY AND POULTRY PRODUCTS INSPECTION › § 458
Do not slaughter or process poultry for people to eat at a commercial plant unless you follow the law’s rules. Do not sell, ship, offer, or receive poultry products that are spoiled, contaminated, mislabeled, or that were supposed to be inspected but were not officially inspected and approved. Do not do anything while products are being shipped or held for sale that would make them unsafe or mislabeled. Do not sell or ship birds unless blood, feathers, feet, head, and internal organs were removed as the Secretary’s rules require, unless the Secretary allows otherwise. Keep trade-secret information learned under the law private, except to government officials or by court order. Do not make, print, or copy official inspection marks, labels, or certificates unless the Secretary allows it. Do not forge, use without permission, change, remove, or destroy any official mark or certificate. If you have a fake, altered, or stolen official mark, certificate, or a carcass bearing one, tell the Secretary right away. Do not lie on any shipper’s or other required certificate. Do not say an item was inspected and cleared (or exempt) when it was not.
