Title 21 › Chapter 10— POULTRY AND POULTRY PRODUCTS INSPECTION › § 463
The Secretary can make rules about how poultry meant for people must be stored and handled by businesses that buy, sell, freeze, store, transport, or import those products for trade. The rules must make sure the food is not contaminated or wrongly labeled when it gets to the consumer, and breaking the rules is illegal. The Secretary must also make any other rules needed to carry out this chapter. When proposing rules, interested people must be given a chance to speak in person under section 553(c) of title 5.
