Title 22 › CHAPTER 7 — INTERNATIONAL BUREAUS, CONGRESSES, ETC. › § 262o–5
The Secretary of the Treasury must tell the U.S. Executive Directors at the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and other similar multilateral development banks to use America's voice and vote to push for two things. First, they must seek removal of bank bans on giving money or technical help for producing, moving, or distributing nuclear power — including small modular reactors — when those technologies meet or beat the safety and quality of U.S. or OECD-member country technology. Second, they must push the banks to build more internal expertise to study the possible role of nuclear energy in client countries and how to provide the financial and technical help described above.
