The United States Governor of the Bank can vote to raise the Bank’s authorized capital by 70,000 shares. The Governor can also sign the United States up to buy 12,453 extra shares, but that purchase only takes effect if Congress provides the money first in an appropriations law. Up to $1,502,267,655 may be appropriated to pay for those shares, and that money has no fiscal year limit.
