Congress may give the State Department up to $73,325,000 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1947 to pay the U.S. share to the Organization. That money can pay for supplies, services, funds, and related costs as set under Article 10. Congress may also give up to $175,000 that year to pay salaries for the representative(s) in section 289a, their staff (including work in D.C.), and other expenses the Secretary of State finds needed. Those salaries are exempt from civil‑service rules in chapter 51 and subchapter III of chapter 53 of title 5. Section 287e and its regulations for subchapter XVI also apply.
