Defines key words used in the chapter. The meanings of "act of international terrorism," "appropriate congressional committees," and "knowingly" are the same as in section 14 of the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 (Public Law 104–172; 50 U.S.C. 1701 note). A "foreign person" is anyone who is not a United States person. An "Iranian person" is either an individual who is an Iranian citizen or national, or an entity organized under Iran’s laws or under the jurisdiction of the Iranian government. "IRGC" means Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. A "United States person" is a U.S. citizen or someone lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an entity organized under U.S. law, including a foreign branch.
