Title 24 › Chapter 10— ARMED FORCES RETIREMENT HOME › Subchapter I— ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF RETIREMENT HOME › § 423
The Chief Operating Officer and the Administrator of the Armed Forces Retirement Home—Washington can apply for and accept a direct grant from the Secretary of the Interior under section 302904 of title 54 to help maintain, repair, and preserve the Home’s historic buildings and grounds. Congress found that four buildings on six acres of the Home are on the National Register, the Home’s Trust Fund (mostly pay deductions from service members) cannot cover both running the Home and preserving those historic places, and other funding sources exist. Any grant received must be put into the Armed Forces Retirement Home Trust Fund, kept separate from other money in the Fund, and used only for preserving those historic buildings and grounds.
