People who provide mental health care to Indians in clinical settings must be licensed as psychologists, social workers, or marriage and family therapists, unless section 1621t of this title says otherwise. Trainees may work if directly supervised, have completed or are enrolled in at least 2 years of an accredited program, and meet other training and review rules the Secretary sets.
