Title 25 › Chapter 22— BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS PROGRAMS › § 2009
Create a Division of Budget Analysis inside the Office of Indian Education Programs no later than 1 year after January 8, 2002. The Office Director will run and directly supervise that Division. Working with tribal governments and tribal school boards, the Director, through the Division, must collect school and student data and estimate how much money is needed to give Indian students the education described in this chapter. For each fiscal year after January 8, 2002, the Director must send, by the same date the Assistant Secretary files the annual budget, a report to the proper Congressional committees (including Appropriations), to every Bureau-funded school, and to their tribal governments. The report must show projected funding needs, explain the methods and formulas used, and may include other useful information. The Director and the Assistant Secretary must use that report when preparing their budget requests.
