Title 25 › Chapter 25— OLD AGE ASSISTANCE CLAIMS SETTLEMENT › § 2301
Defines three key words used in this chapter. "Secretary" means the Secretary of the Interior. "Unauthorized disbursement" means a payment taken from a deceased Indian’s trust estate that the Secretary gave to a State or local government to repay old-age assistance paid to that person before death in violation of federal rules about Indian trust property. It also covers reimbursements listed in the Federal Register on April 17, 1985, page 15290, volume 50, as modified on November 13, 1985, page 46835, volume 50, or on March 31, 1983, page 13698, volume 48, as modified on November 7, 1983, page 51204, volume 48. "Trust estate" means the part of an estate made up of land or other property held by the United States for the Indian’s benefit or that cannot be sold without the Secretary’s permission.
