Title 25 › Chapter 36— INDIAN EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING AND RELATED SERVICES › § 3408
Allows a tribal government to spend some federal money to create jobs and grow the tribe’s or tribal members’ economic resources. The projects must fit a broader regional economic plan that has a good chance to succeed and must match the purposes of the programs. It can include private-sector job training and placement under section 3409. A tribe may use the larger of two amounts for these activities: the local unemployment rate (but no more than 25 percent) or 10 percent. Only funds given to the tribe by a federal agency through a statutory or administrative formula may be used.
