Title 25 › Chapter 43— NATIVE AMERICAN HOUSING ASSISTANCE AND SELF-DETERMINATION › Subchapter VIII— HOUSING ASSISTANCE FOR NATIVE HAWAIIANS › § 4229
Lets tribes and groups build, fix, or support affordable rental housing and homes for sale, and provide services for those homes under the rules of section 4230. It covers both doing the housing work and running programs that help people live in the homes. Work allowed includes buying land, building new units, rebuilding or making moderate or major repairs, site work, utilities, conversions, demolition, financing, planning, and other related tasks. It also covers housing help like counseling, support for resident groups, energy checks, self‑sufficiency services, property management work (inspections, tenant choice, loan processing, running rental‑assistance), safety and security measures, and pilot programs the Secretary approves.
