Shipping, transporting, or removing distilled spirits, wine, or beer under a false name or brand — one that does not properly identify the kind and quality of what is inside — is a crime. The penalty is a fine of up to $1,000, up to 1 year in prison, or both, plus forfeiture of the liquor and its casks or packages.
