Defines key words used in this chapter. "Amateur sports organization" is a person or government body that runs, schedules, or organizes competitive games with amateur athletes, or a league or group of those organizations. "Governmental entity" is a State, a subdivision of a State, or any organization with government authority inside U.S. territory, and it includes entities or lands mentioned in section 4(5) and section 4(4) of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (25 U.S.C. 2703(5) and 25 U.S.C. 2703(4)). "Professional sports organization" is a person or government body that runs competitive games with professional athletes, or a league of such bodies. "Person" has the meaning given in section 1 of title 1. "State" means any of the several States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, or any U.S. territory or possession.
