§3008 Authorization of Appropriations; Reservations and Distribution of Funds

Summary

Money is authorized for these years: $44,000,000 for fiscal year 2023; $45,980,000 for 2024; $48,049,100 for 2025; $50,211,310 for 2026; and $52,470,819 for 2027. Each year the Secretary must first set aside 3% of the funds for two activities listed in section 3005(b). After that, 85.5% of the remainder goes to section 3003 and 14.5% goes to section 3004. If a year’s total is over $49,000,000, the Secretary may first set aside up to the smaller of the amount over $49,000,000 or $2,000,000 for section 3006, and then make the 3% set-aside and the 85.5/14.5 split.
