Title 29 › Chapter 11— LABOR-MANAGEMENT REPORTING AND DISCLOSURE PROCEDURE › Subchapter III— REPORTING BY LABOR ORGANIZATIONS, OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF LABOR ORGANIZATIONS, AND EMPLOYERS › § 435
Reports and documents filed with the Secretary under sections 431, 432, 433, and 441 must be available to the public. The Secretary may publish the information and use it for statistics, research, and reports. The Secretary must write rules so anyone can inspect the filed information on request. The Department of Labor must provide copies for a charge that only covers the cost. If a State agency is named by law or by the Governor where the filer is based, the Secretary must give that agency copies free (or require the filer to do so) when the Governor asks. Fees collected go to the Treasury’s general fund.
