Title 29 › Chapter 11— LABOR-MANAGEMENT REPORTING AND DISCLOSURE PROCEDURE › Subchapter VII— MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS › § 521
The Secretary can investigate when he believes someone has violated or might violate any part of this chapter, except subchapter II. To find the facts, he may enter places, look at records and accounts, question people, and report the findings or explain why a required report was not filed. For these investigations, sections 49 and 50 of title 15 apply, which allow the Secretary to require witnesses to attend and to produce books, papers, and documents.
