Title 30 › Chapter 1— UNITED STATES BUREAU OF MINES › § 13
The Secretary of the Interior, through the U.S. Bureau of Mines, must set up, equip, and maintain a research laboratory in Pennsylvania’s anthracite region. The lab will study mining, preparation, uses, and markets for anthracite and provide information and help on conserving resources for national defense, improving mining efficiency, and miner safety, health, and sanitation.
