Title 32 › Chapter 3— PERSONNEL › § 324
A National Guard officer must be discharged when they turn 64 or when they lose federal recognition. Otherwise, their appointment can be ended under the laws of the State or territory where they serve (Puerto Rico, D.C., Guam, or the Virgin Islands); chaplains and certain medical officers may stay, with their consent, until age 68.
