§702a–5 Back Levee North of Eudora Floodway

Summary

Build the back-protection levee north of the Eudora Floodway to the same height and cross-section as the levees on the east side of the Mississippi River. Put it so floodwaters can pass without threatening those east-side levees, and build it at the same time as the Eudora Floodway. Until the Eudora Floodway is working, leave openings in the back levee north of the head of the Eudora Floodway. The Chief of Engineers will decide how big those openings must be so they can pass any floodwaters reasonably expected if the riverside fuse-plug levee breaks before the floodway is operable.
