Title 33 › Chapter 18— LONGSHORE AND HARBOR WORKERS’ COMPENSATION › § 935
When an employer has an insurance company instead of handling claims itself, the Secretary must make rules so the insurer can carry out the employer’s workers’ compensation duties. Under those rules, telling the employer about an injury also tells the insurer; any legal authority over the employer also applies to the insurer; and any official orders, findings, or decisions for the employer also apply to the insurer.
