The Attorney General, through the Bureau of Justice Assistance, can give grants to States, territories, and Indian tribes (as defined in federal law) to fight the making, selling, and use of methamphetamine and to improve public safety. Grants can fund investigations, arrests, and prosecutions; pay back the DEA for cleaning up secret meth labs; support health and environmental responses; and buy equipment, technology, or other resources if the applicant shows the Attorney General that the spending will reduce meth use, sale, or manufacture.
