The Attorney General may use no more than 5 percent of the program’s money for running the program and giving technical help. A grant under this program can be renewed for up to two more years after the first fiscal year the grantee got its initial award, but only if money is available and two things are true: the Attorney General finds the earlier funds were spent the way the approved application said, and the Attorney General finds another grant is needed to carry out the community prosecution program in the comprehensive plan required by section 12223.
