Defines the main words used in the chapter. Center means the Angel Watch Center created under section 21503(a). Convicted has the meaning given in section 111 of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 (42 U.S.C. 16911). Covered sex offender means a person who is a sex offender because they were convicted of a sex offense against a minor, unless another rule says otherwise. Destination country means a country someone is going to or passing through. INTERPOL means the International Criminal Police Organization. Jurisdiction means a State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and, as allowed under section 127 of the Adam Walsh Act (42 U.S.C. 16927), a federally recognized Indian tribe. Minor means a person under 18 years old. National Sex Offender Registry means the registry set up by section 119 of the Adam Walsh Act (42 U.S.C. 16919). Sex offender under SORNA has the meaning given in section 111 of the Adam Walsh Act (42 U.S.C. 16911). Sex offense against a minor means a "specified offense against a minor" as defined in section 111, includes certain offenses listed in section 111(5)(A) and attempts or conspiracies to commit them, and follows the limits in section 111(5)(B) and (C) in the same way.
