The Museum can hire experts and consultants under section 3109 of title 5 and pay them no more than the daily amount equal to the annual basic pay for Executive Schedule level IV under section 5315 of title 5. The Museum can also make contracts and payments with government and private groups to do its work under this chapter. The Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, the Library of Congress, and the heads of executive branch departments and agencies can help the Museum. The Secretary of the Interior may give administrative support to the Museum on a reimbursable basis.
