Title 36 › Subtitle Subtitle I— Patriotic and National Observances and Ceremonies › Part A— Observances and Ceremonies › Chapter 5— PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURAL CEREMONIES › § 511
Allows money to be spent so the Mayor of the District of Columbia can pay for extra city services during the inaugural period. It covers six types of costs, like hiring personal services without regard to chapters 33 and 51 and subchapter III of chapter 53 of title 5; travel for enforcement staff from other jurisdictions; hiring transportation; meals for police, firefighters, and other municipal workers; moving streetcar platforms and running temporary comfort, first-aid, and information stations; and other incidental expenses the Mayor approves. Also allows funds so the Secretary of the Interior can provide meals for members of the United States Park Police during the inaugural period. Payments for the Mayor’s items are made the same way as other District of Columbia expense appropriations, and payments for the Park Police meals are made the same way as other Department of the Interior expense appropriations.
