Title 37 › Chapter 19— ADMINISTRATION › § 1014
Military basic pay, basic housing and food allowances, and other regular military pay (not travel or separation pay) must be paid on the first day of the month after the month in which the pay was earned. That rule does not stop one midmonth payment for any part of pay, and it does not stop making advance payments. If a member chose to join the Thrift Savings Plan under section 211, half of their monthly TSP deposit may be taken and put into the fund at midmonth.
